The Color of God

Red is the color of fire

that gives warmth from the cold,

just like God warms the heart of a child.

God must be the color of red.

Yellow is the color of the sun

that brings light to the earth,

just like God brings light to the soul of a child.

God must be the color of yellow.

Brown is the color of the soil

that strengthens the delicate sapling,

just like God strengthens the frame of a child.

God must be the color of brown.

Black is the color of the night

that nurtures the evening creatures,

just like God nurtures the life of a child.

God must be the color of black.

White is the color of the clouds

that transform the empty sky,

just like God transforms the mind of a child.

God must be the color of white.

Yet, what is the color of the wind

that moves the grasses of the meadow,

just like God moves the spirit of a child?
